Another very special year for our club as we celebrate our 100th year. There are some special fixtures in the pipeline as well as all our usual fixtures.
2025
An exciting year for the club as we can boast three presidents this year which is our ninety ninth year.Darren O'Callaghan has been elected West Monmouthshire Bowling Association President this year and we wish him well in his year of office. Julia Williams has been elected Pen Y Glyn County President and like wise we wish here every success for her year in office.Peter Williams has been elected Monmouthshire President and again we wish him well in his year of office.
We will begin celebrations with a special match against the first ever Lady President of the WLB, Heulwen Morgan, on Thursday 1st May. There will follow many special events throughout the season and it should make for a special year for our club. We are fortunate to already have a few new members for the coming season but as always we are always glad to welcome a few more. A warm welcome awaits anyone who wishes to have a go at bowls, it can be very satisfying and rewarding.
Special Match 1st May
A great day yesterday to kick off a special year for our club. The Welsh president, Heulwen Morgan, brought a team to the club to play against our three presidents, Julia, Darren and Peter. The day was commenced with a moving speech by our MND warrior Fran. During the day with a spider and raffle we have raised another few hundred pounds towards this MNDA charity. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible, especially Julia, Amanda and Lynn on the catering and everyone who helped at the bar.
