Match Report

After the midweek fixtures were both called off it was nice to get back on the green.

Rink1 saw Alistair Rosser, Steve Jones, Tony Seavill and Peter Williams race out of the blocks 8-0 after five and 12-1 after ten. It looked all over after leading 16-3 after thirteen but the Oakdale rink had other ideas and won the remaining ends to finish a respectful 16-14.

A tight affair on rink2 with Nigel Harris, Mike Wilcox, Alan Edwards (Captain) and Martin Doughty 3-5 down after five, 6-12 down after ten and 7-16 down after fifteen but a late rally put them 15-16 playing the last end only to drop a two and finish 15-18.

Rink3 was Andrew Snell, Denis Lewis, Karl Poynter and Clive Williams and they had a tough afternoon going down 1-6 after five, 4-8 after ten, 7-18 after fifteen and ended 11-21.

Rink4 saw Jamie Worlock, Robert Plummer, John Norris and Steve Godding who had a solid game leading 7-4 after five, 14-5 after ten, 18-7 after fifteen and ended 22-9.

Rink5 was Adrian Williams, Kevin Jones, Chris Denby and Gethin Hill, a good start saw them lead 10-3 after five and 12-8 after ten, they kept the lead 18-14 at fifteen but the away team rallied to earn a 21-21 draw.

Overall another good run out for the club and a narrow 85-82 victory.

While the guys rest up this week until the first MBA match next Saturday, the ladies start their campaign with league fixtures Tuesday and Thursday.
