Match Report

Our ladies started their fortieth year with a difficult trip to Merthyr West End on a bitterly cold evening.  With a few late drop outs the ladies were grateful for the support of Jamie Worlock and David Wilmot.

Rink three with Sally Mistry, Anne Hughes, Amanda Penny and Kate Sturdy were slow out of the blocks going 1-15 down after five and 3-23 after ten but the rallied in the final third to finish a respectful 11-24.

Rink four had a few changes with Sandra Jones moving to rink five and David Wilmot coming in at second, so they lined up with Trudie Silcox, David Wilmot, Lisa Wilmot and Cheryl Prosser, a very tight match here with the scores 3-3 after five and 6-6 after ten but the Merthyr rink edged the final third to finish 9-13 to Merthyr.

Rink five had Sandra Jones, Jamie Worlock, Julia Williams and Joyce Congreve. A decent start saw them take a 4-3 lead at five and a 9-7 lead at ten, they also won the final third to win the rink 16-8.

Overall a decent performance against a strong opponent finishing only nine shots down 36-45 securing 2pts to 8.
