This week proved to be a great week for our ladies, they beat Brynmawr 8-2 at home on Tuesday, Abertillery 8-2 at home on Wednesday and Crickhowell 10-0 at home on Wednesday, well done ladies.
Also on Wednesday our West Mon team travelled to Abertillery for a tough encounter and also recorded a win by 12-2 to stay top of the league.
Friday saw the last mixed league match and an excellent 4-1 win at Whitchurch. The team finish on top of the table and will now face Abertillery in the semi final next month.
Saturday our PG team travelled to Gilfach and with a few guys missing came unstuck by 12-2, the two points gained could prove to be invaluable when the league is completed, well done guys.
Saturday was also county finals day and a great day was had by everyone at Abergavenny. The club were well represented and came away with three county titles. Pride of place goes to Roger Jones who won the open singles title again, Roger has a remarkable record in this competition and played superbly to defeat Beaufort old boy Chris Klefenz in this final. Roger also skipped the senior fours to victory, ably assisted by Clive Williams, Paul Hayden and Peter Williams. Clive and Peter also went on to collect a double picking up the senior pairs title. They are all to be congratulated and go to Llandrindod next month in a bid to add the Welsh titles to their accomplishments.
