Unfortunately our friendly with Mountain Ash on Monday was postponed as was the ladies match against Abertillery on Tuesday. Wednesday saw us open our West Mon League fixtures, with a 12 points to 2 win at local rivals RTB Ebbw Vale.
Thursday our ladies had a hard battle at Merthyr West End but managed 2 points in a 8-2 defeat.
Friday our mixed team returned a very creditable 4-1 victory against a strong Rhiwbina team. Some of the guys then played again in a very good Monmouthshire Cup match at Bedwas & Trethomas and another very good performance saw us win by 9 shots. The draw for the next round has been made and we face a difficult trip to one of the rejuvenated teams at Pontnewydd.
Saturday saw our MBA team have a tough day at Abertillery only managing 1 point, full credit to our hosts who mastered the tricky surface much better than us.
The GBL team had a much better day securing all ten points at Pontypool Park.
The club remain in a very good position and look forward to competing for the rest of the season.
